Great Summer Outdoor Meals

Heading into Summer means it is time for outdoor grilling. It is that time of the year to go outdoors and celebrate the 4th of July or any summer day with family and friends. Heartland Living is bringing you some of our favorite meals. Check out these recipes that are traditional burgers and chicken recipes, along with some healthy vegetables and refreshing tea. Best Cheeseburger

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons dill pickle relish
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 pounds ground beef
1 1⁄2 teaspoons Kosher salt
1 1⁄2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons canola oil
6 slices American or Cheddar cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle relish and Dijon.

2. In a large bowl, combine beef, salt and pepper. Mix with hands or wooden spoon, then form into 6 patties the size of the hamburger buns.

3. Fire up the grill if you’re wanting to be outside. If inside, heat canola oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Cook until desired doneness, top with cheese.

4. Serve immediately in hamburger buns with sauce and desired toppings.

Brioche hamburger buns
Romaine or butter lettuce
Sliced tomato
Sliced red onion
Dill pickle chips
